Earth Month Events

April is Earth Month, which is a great time to reflect on our use of natural resources, and to address the actions we all can take to have a positive impact on our environment. The IWMA is excited to celebrate Earth Month this month and every month.  Our team will be talking about solid waste issues and sustainable practices at events throughout the county this month. April 3: The TREEmendous Paper Tale, Ludwick Community Center

Join our Science Discovery education team to learn how paper is made, and make your own sheet of paper to take home!

April 17: Earth Week Kickoff, Cal Poly (Dexter Lawn)

Our team will have a table at Cal Poly's Green Campus Earth Week Kickoff Festival, where we will join other community groups in education and celebration of our environment. Stop by and say hi, and learn about how solid waste management affects our planet.

April 17: Recycle Right, San Luis Obispo Library

Science Discovery will be leading a program at the San Luis Obispo Library, focused on recycling and composting in SLO County. Free food pails, stickers and fliers will be available to attendees!

April 21: Cambria Earth Day Celebration, Greenspace Creekside Reserve

Our team will be tabling at this year's Cambria Earth Day Celebration! Join us and other eco organizations as we learn about this year's theme, Planet vs Plastics.
