Never dump your mattress on the side of the road: recycling a mattress in SLO County is easy and convenient, and ensures your old mattress will have a second life. Residents can use Bye Bye Mattress's locator tool to find a facility for recycling.

Up to 75% of a mattress can be recycled into new products.

The foam and fabric can be made into new carpet padding
The cotton fibers can be used in insulation products
The steel springs can be used in construction rebar and other steel products
The wooden frames can be shredded and used as mulch or fuel
