Carton Recycling
The California Department of Resources Recycling and Recovery (CalRecycle) has recently updated recycling collection and sortation information to include non-CRV cartons (both gable-top and aseptic).
What does this mean for SLO residents?
This means residents of San Luis Obispo County are now able to recycle clean, dry cartons into their blue recycle bins.
What kind of cartons are accepted in the blue bin?
Check out our Recycle Guide for more detailed information, but here’s a quick breakdown:
Milk and Juice Cartons: Rinsed, dried, cap off

Tetra-Pak Cartons: Rinsed, dried

Juice Boxes: Rinsed, dried, straw out
