Summer Craft Activity: How to Make Recycled Paper!
Running out of ideas for summer activities? Don’t worry, we have you covered with a simple zero-waste craft activity that will keep people of all ages engaged!
Here are all the materials that you will need for this craft :
- Blender
- Paper (old homework/crafts, junk mail)
- Sponge
- Container with lid
- Newspaper
- Small Tub
- Screen (Old picture frame with screen mesh nailed around frame, can also use cheesecloth!)

Here's what you will need to make paper.

First step: Rip up scraps of paper into smaller blendable pieces.

Second step: Place pieces of paper in a blender and fill with water, water should cover just slightly more than the paper.

Third Step: Blend it up!

Fourth Step: Place the screen over the small tub. Pour blended paper mixture in a single layer over the screen and allow water from the mixture to drain.

Fifth Step: Place newspaper directly on top of the paper mixture and push down. Flip the whole screen with the newspaper still intact and use the sponge to push the paper into the newspaper sheet and soak up excess water.

Sixth Step: Lift screen gently off the newspaper. Let your paper sheet dry on the newspaper. Your new recycled paper should be lifted around the edges and easily come off the newspaper.

You did it! Enjoy your newly made recycled paper and utilize it for more crafts, greeting cards, or artwork!
